Assistant Coach Reed Powers

IMG_3786Assistant Coach Reed Powers has been with the Wayland program since the 12-13 season. Powers’ hockey knowledge goes well beyond his years and his attention to detail were instrumental in Wayland’s last two D3 North Sectional Championship and two league championships. In addition to his role as a varsity assistant, he has previously served as an Associate Head Coach of the Wayland-Weston co-op JV team.

Reed is a graduate of UMass-Amherst and has a Master’s Degree in Education. Before coming to Wayland, he spent two seasons coaching Arlington High’s JV team.

As a player, Reed, like Murray, played his schoolboy hockey at Arlington High School under Coach Richard DeCaprio – a member of the Massachusetts Hockey Coach’s Hall of Fame. At Arlington, Reed was a two-time Greater Boston League All-Star. As a senior, Reed served as captain of the Spy Ponders while also leading the team in points.
