Welcome 2009-2010 Wayland Middle School Hockey
Team!
The 2009-10 season is upon us and the middle school hockey team is off
to a quick start. With tryouts complete, let the games begin, and
welcome to the new and returning players. As my 3rd year with
the middle school team begins, I anticipate the trend of continuous
improvement will go on. We have several players returning and a great
set of additions for the new season. The bar was moved significantly
higher by last year’s team, with the team meeting and exceeding the
goals set at the beginning of the year. Same approach this year, strive
to meet a set of goals to be defined over the next few weeks.
We’ll return to
the NESC league with a league title to defend, we have a good group of
young men waiting to take on this challenge. For the next 13 weeks
we’ll practice and play almost 20 games as a team representing the
town of Wayland. I expect all of the players are ready to lead by
example, play as a team, as well as defend the title and represent their
town.
Assisting me in oh so
many ways will be Charlie Cope, Mark Lange and Cory O'Reilly. I’m sure
I can speak on behalf of the coaching staff in stating that the
anticipation is over, we’re ready to play some hockey.
